Dr Michael Mew BDS (Lon) MSc (Orth)
Clinician and Lecturer
Doctor Michael Mew qualified in the 1993 as a dentist at the Royal London Hospital. After several years in general practice, community dentistry and facial surgery, he entered the renowned Orthodontic programme at Aarhus University in Denmark, qualifying as a specialist dentist in 2004. He is particularly interested in the cause of crooked teeth and the Aetiology of Malocclusion, he feels that when the profession understands so little it is best to start at the bottom and work up.
Miss Sue Lloyd
PA to Dr Mew
Miss Sue Lloyd joined the practice in 2012 as Dr Mew’s PA. Sue is responsible for the day to day operational management of the practice. Sue has extensive experience of running her own small business and is friendly and approachable. Away from the practice she enjoys photography, dancing and gardening.
Miss Inga Klovaite
Miss Inga Klovaite joined the practice in 2013 as a qualified Orthodontic Nurse. She is responsible for the smooth running of the clinic and ensuring the patients’ comply with their treatment. She has gained a wealth of experience in orthotropics during her time at the practice and is a valuable member of staff. Away from the practice she enjoys reading about health and self-improvement.
Mrs Aliyah Janmohamed
Mrs Aliyah Janmohamed joined the practice in June 2017 as a qualified dental clinician.
There has been an orthotropic clinic in Purley for nearly 40 years. The clinic was initially set up by Dr Mike Mew’s father Professor John Mew when he relocated his London clinic out of central London, Wimpole Street. His son Dr Mike Mew took over the clinic in 2014.
Since 2014 Dr Mew has been working to further develop both the clinic and the treatment therapy itself. He has set up an onside orthodontic laboratory and has established a teaching and research side to the clinic. This is the London School of Facial Orthotropics.
